Welcome to Natural Light Portrait Photography!

In this 3 -hour class, we'll explore how to capture beautiful, expressive portraits using nothing but natural light. Whether you're shooting outdoors or near a window, natural light can create stunning, authentic images, no studio gear required.

We'll begin by understanding how light works, its direction, quality, color and a potential B&W, and how to use it creatively to flatter your subject. Then we'll cover positioning, simple tools like reflectors, and how to adapt to different lighting conditions. Finally, we'll put it all into practice with live shooting exercises and tips on composition, expression, and storytelling.

This session is perfect for beginners and enthusiasts who want to elevate their portraits using natural, available light. Let's get started and learn how to see light in a whole new way!

Fantastic! A very different take on street photography workshops I've done and educational materials I've seen before. A lovely philosophical approach to teaching that really made me think.

Plenty of time to shoot. Got useful and interesting tips. Good overall introduction. Group size and level of participants allowed to focus on creativity rather than basic technique. Friendly attitude of the other participants, sharing experiences and tips on the day. The host allowed extra time to review one shot per participant, very useful.

Simona's photoshop class was interesting and fun. She focused on the basics, especially working with levels and exposure. I had a photo from a train station, and Simona how it was actually underexposed. Learning how to adjust the levels properly transformed it from an okay shot into something really good - brightening up the darker areas while keeping the bright lights balanced. It was eye-opening to see how much potential was in the original image. What made the class special was Simona herself - she's not just a great teacher but really entertaining too. Her decades of experience as a professional photographer meant she could share wider insights about digital photography, not just software tricks. The small group was lovely, and it was fascinating to see everyone's photos and how they improved them using the techniques we learned. If you're looking for a friendly, no-pressure introduction to photo editing with an experienced pro, I'd definitely recommend this workshop.

Really enjoyed the session as an intro to Photoshop. The environment was very relaxing and Simona has an encouraging easy going teaching style allowing us to "do" as well as listen. My sister and I would definitely do further sessions. Simona herself has a wealth of knowledge which she is happy to impart to us.

An ex-colleague of mine, Ian Haworth, whose opinion I value greatly, mentioned that The Albert Bridge was his absolute favourite. I realised that although I had worked within walking distance of the bridge I had never really paid much attention to it before. So, armed with my tripod and camera gear I headed down to Battersea for a quick 10-minute walk to view this magnificent structure 1st hand. It was nicknamed "The Trembling Lady" because it tended to vibrate, particularly when used by tr

I used to work in this area so taking a trip back there brought back many memories and thoughts of how much I loved it there. What better way to lock in those thoughts in a stunning photo of that wonderful view. Armed with my tripod I took a 30 sec exposure for this one, bringing a calmness to the scene.

Right after a terrific storm, we went outside to see if any damage had been done to the waterfront and were amazed to see the clear lights of the city with a bright moon shining overhead. The peaceful, calm water made it look like not a drop of rain had fallen.
